My wife and I are in love with the Keweenaw peninsula. I am a retired engineer and a landscape/travel photographer (age 57) and my wife is a teaches assistant. We desperately want to get out of the rat-race of our region in Illinois... about 25 miles west of Chicago. We would like to buy a rural property of 40 to a couple hundred acres if, possible. We would like to hear what people who live there now have to say about life on on Keweenaw. What do you really like about it? What are you gripes? Are property taxes high? How is local government? What should we know before making the decision?
We don't mind long winters and deep snow at all and, in fact, we would like that. We would like to hear anything you have to say, good or bad.
Thanks,
Tom
