This proposed burning ordinance was adapted from a model burning ordinance to reflect local requirements. All three fire chiefs and the township supervisor participated in creating the proposed ordinance, which was presented at the Torch Lake Township Board Meeting held on January 16, 2008.

The board requests public input on the proposed ordinance so that any improvements can be made prior to its enactment, now scheduled for the February 20, 2008 board meeting. Paper copies are also available for pick up at the Hubbell Community Center.

Proposed changes should be communicated to Supervisor Brian Cadwell by February 13.
